11:43 a.m. R1 7 Rhodesian (5 g Rip Van Winkle – Laezeel, by Zabeel) – Trudy Thornton; fought well on unsuitable Heavy10 footing in the Maiden 2000 metres on 11 January at Matamata, and contests the $14,000 Maiden 2100 metres. Drawn wide (13), but blinkers on and receives ideal opportunity to show improvement. Fixed odds: $21.00 & $5.50.

12:16 p.m. R2 7 Time to Wonder (4 g Tarzino – Wonderworld, by More Than Ready) – Cameron Lammas; was unable to quicken after leading in the Maiden 1600 metres on 3 January at Matamata, and steps up in the $14,000 Maiden 2100 metres. He needs to show improvement. Fixed odds: $31.00 & $7.00.

12:51 p.m. R3 9 Myrtle Creek (4 m Ocean Park – Martini Red, by Red Ransom) – Cameron Lammas; was unpressured when running home nicely in trial on 19 January at Tauranga, and resumes in the $14,000 Rating 60 1200 metres. Previous course/distance winner fresh-up, she meets a solid line-up but credentials to rate a top four chance. Fixed odds: $8.50 & $2.50. Pictured

4:24 p.m. R9 11 Shimmering (4 m Telperion – Platinum Monarch, by Fastnet Rock) – Cameron Lammas; raced wide throughout when resuming in the Pearl Series Maiden 1400 metres on 28 December at Rotorua, and contests the $14,000 Maiden 1600 metres. She raced up to 2100 metres last season and shown enough to expect improvement. Fixed odds: $21.00 & $4.50.

5:00 p.m. R10 10 Glitzabella (3 f Turn Me Loose – Glitzabeel, by Zabeel) – Cameron Lammas; led up and fought well for fourth in the Maiden Fillies & Mares 1600 metres on 2 January at Tauranga, and with visor blinkers on she contests the $14,000 Maiden 1600 metres. Dam Glitzabeel won five times to 2100 metres, and she receives nice opportunity to improve further. Fixed odds: $10.00 & $3.30.

“Time to Wonder has been working better in a tongue tie and nose band and steps up to 2100 metres which should be ideal.”

“Myrtle Creek resumes over 1200 metres and previously course/distance winner fresh-up. We were happy with her trial and not too far off the mark to resume. She will require further, but ready to race well first-up.”

“Shimmering looks fit and ready and working pretty well. She is a lot stronger now and coping better with everything.”

“Glitzabella has done plenty of work and we are really happy with her progress. She has visor blinkers on and we expect she can run a bold race.”
