GROUP 1 NIGHT AT MOONEE VALLEY

We rely on the girls tonight at Moonee Valley with Tokorangi and Roch ’N’ Horse representing us.

Roch ’N’ Horse (pictured) runs in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes over 1200 metres from barrier 12 after scratchings with Patrick Moloney riding and Mike is delighted with the appearance of the six-year-old.

“I could not be happier with her, she looks absolutely beautiful, has come in the coat and she just looks magnificent,” Mike said.

“She’s racing well and her last start second to Private Eye reads well after that horse ran so well in The Everest.

“The barrier is my one concern and I think our best chance will be to stay three or four wide with some cover and then roll into it off the final turn.

“She’s as well as we can have her and provided the track is playing fair she will be there and keeping them honest in what does look an evenly matched race as you would expect at this level.”

Tokorangi runs in the first race over 2040 metres with Daniel Moor riding.

“I’m happy with her, her work has been good and she looks terrific so I’m looking for her to run well tonight,” Mike said.

“It’s her first time at the Valley, she’s going well at home and it does look a winnable race so it will be good to see her bounce back to form.”
