Three runners for us tonight under the lights at Moonee Valley with Nerve Not Verv and Sound in the same race and Snapper starting a new campaign

Sound and Nerve Not Verve run in race six, the JRA Cup at Listed level over 2040 metres with Jamie Mott aboard Sound who has pleased Mike Moroney.

“He’s done very sell since the first-up run, he’s fit enough for the trip and I just hope the rain does not arrive as he can handle soft but not at his best on anything worse,” Mike said.

“It looks an even sort of race and if you went on his trackwork you would say he’s a winning chance. I’ve kept him a little bit fresh for the shorter trip tonight as we will stretch him him after this race but he’s in good form and I’m expecting him to run well.”

“She’s got form in soft ground but she doesn’t like it heavy so we’re hoping the rain stays away,” Mike said.

“I’m happy with her and she should be able to race on speed. She’ll improve for the run tonight but she could easily get an easy run on the speed and she can give this race a big shake.”

Snapper is the first to go in the third race over 1200 metres with Logan McNeil aboard.

“He does like this track and he’s done well coming into this, he’s in good order, still not quite there in the coat but tonight will bring him on.

“His work has been good, his jumpouts good so provided the rain does not arrive and the track is alright then he’s there to run well.”
