A BUSY MONDAY AT ECHUCA

A busy Monday for us as we head north with four runners at Echuca.

Watty’s Girl, Livvy Lass, Lady Audrey and Kaituku are racing with Lady Audrey the first to go in race one, the 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate over 1000m with Jordan Childs aboard.

Lady Audrey has been ready to go but has been thwarted by wide barriers and will jump from barrier seven today in a field of eight following half the field being scratched.

“The track is listed as heavy and she gets first use of it in a valuable VOBIS race,” Moroney said.

“She’s in good order and her work has been very good.

“She’s a filly we have an opinion of and I do think she will be very hard to beat.”

Watty’s Girl debuts in race three, the Maiden Plate over 1100m with Jordan Childs riding from barrier seven.

“The softer track should suit her and she’s ready to go after a couple of jumpouts,” Moroney said.

“She’s forward enough and it will be interesting to see how she goes in a race where those that have raced do not appear to have shown a great deal.”

Kaituku commences a new campaign in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1400m jumping from barrier four under Jordan Childs.

“I’ve always thought he’s better on a softer surface so I’m happy to start him off today,” Moroney said.

“He’s done enough to be competitive and whatever he does he will improve on and at this distance then he can start off on a good note.”

Livvy Lass (pictured) runs in race six, the benchmark 58 handicap over 1600m with Jordan Childs in the saddle.

“She’s been up a while but she’s holding her condition well and we’ve spaced her races,” Moroney said.

“She’s back in class today and it does look a nice race for her so with ordinary luck I expect her to run well and be hard to beat.”
