WINNING CHANCES AT SALE ON SUNDAY

Yatton, Star Of Eden and Quail Hollow are our Sunday runners as they trek to Sale.

Star Of Eden resumes in race two, the 3yo Fillies Maiden over 1400m with Billy Egan in the saddle.

Star Of Eden placed at Flemington last time in. The daughter of Wandjina last raced when unplaced in the VRC Oaks in November and Mike Moroney says has returned a stronger filly.

“I’m really happy with her this time in, she’s a lot stronger and more furnished,” Moroney said.

“Her jumpouts have been good and with only five to beat she does look the winner on known form.”

Yatton is also resuming, she runs in race three, the Maiden Plate over 1400m with Daniel Stackhouse in the saddle.

Like Star Of Eden she too finished unplaced in the VRC Oaks and is starting a new campaign today.

“She looks terrific and on what she’s shown us on the track she should be hard to beat today,” Moroney said.

“All things being equal I’d expect a filly of her class to be winning - she’s comer back stronger and more complete and I’d like to think she can clear her maiden today and then step up in trip.”

Quail Hollow (pictured) rounds out the day in race eight, the benchmark 64 handicap over 1717m with Daniel Stackhouse aboard.

Quail Hollow scored over 1700m at Warrnambool two starts back and return to that trip today.

“We chose this race today in preference to one at Kyneton as we felt the track would be a bit better,” Moroney said.

“The race today should be ideal for him, it’s up in distance but he just got run off his feet last start over 1500 metres so he should be able to settle into a rhythm today and although it looks a decent enough race if he brings his best then he is certainly good enough to be winning.”
