NUBE VIAJERA AND SEMINOLES OUR THURSDAY RUNNERS

Two runners for us at Moe today with Nube Viajera and Seminoles heading to Gippsland.

Nube Viajera is the first to go in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1614m with Jamie Mott to ride and jumping from barrier 11 after scratchings.

It is the third start for Nube Viajera, who disappointed last time out when unplaced on firmer ground at Bendigo after his good fourth on debut at Geelong on a soft track.

Mike Moroney is happier with the heavy (9) reading for today’s race.

“I’m not that concerned about the wide barrier as he doesn’t have a huge amount of gate speed,” Moroney said.

“The big thing in his favour is the track condition - he’ll be suited by the heavy ground for sure.

“It’s a handy enough race but I’m happy with our horse, he looks terrific and I’m expecting a much better showing today.”

Seminoles has his second start this preparation in the last race, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1614m with Damien Thornton riding from barrier five.

“He is fitter for this and he’s only had one try on a heavy track so the conditions shouldn’t be an issue,” Moroney said.

“He needs to improve but he’s drawn nicely and even though this is an even sort of race I’m expecting him to run a better race today.”
