Saturday's race will be the final race for Glass Harmonium this campaign with trainer Mike Moroney wanting to spell the five-year-old imported entire before a spring preparation.

A Group 3 winner over 2011m in England Glass Harmonium arrived in Australian via the Hong Kong International Races in December where he was unplaced in the Group 1 Hong Kong Cup over 2000m.

After a spell to overcome quarantine Moroney presented Glass Harmonium for the first of this two race campaign for the Hollindale Stakes and a good half-length second to My Kingdom Of Fife.

“He seems to have trained on the right way and he had a nice gallop this morning on a pretty wet course proper, but he went round quite well,” said Moroney from the his Sunshine Coast base.

Moroney said that with Glass Harmonium being an entire it was taking longer to get him fit.

“Being a stallion still he has taken a bit of work and I think he is not quite at his peak fitness yet, but he not far away,” he said.

Saturday's race will help Moroney decide on a spring target for Glass Harmonium with both the weight-for-age WS Cox Plate (2040m) and the Caulfield Cup (2400m) possible targets.
