TWO RUNNERS ON OAKS DAY

Top Of The Range and Play That Song represent the stable at Flemington on Oaks Day.

Play That Song is the first to go in race three, the Drinkwise Plate over 1700m with Patrick Moloney to ride while Top Of The Range is in the following race, the Twitter Trophy over 1800m with James McDonald to ride.

It is the second start this preparation for Play That Song (pictured), which came from well back around the home turn to finish eighth at Cranbourne when resuming.

“She’s improved a lot for the first run but she has struck a decent race,” Mike Moroney said. “She will be a lot better suited at Flemington though.

“I’m not too concerned with the wide draw now that the track has had a bit of wear after two days of racing it will more a question of how far back she ends up.

“I’m very pleased with her and on her day she’s more than good enough to win and I do think she will there at the finish.”

It is the third start this campaign for Top Of The Range.

“I’m really happy with him and the couple of scratchings help,” Moroney said. “It’s still a strong race but he looks particularly well.

“His work has been good and I’m expecting him to run well and I think that, while he should run well, he can still improve on what he does on Thursday.”
