WINNING CHANCES AT BALLARAT ON WEDNESDAY

A busy day with Falling Waters, Parsifal and Born To Fight running at Ballarat and all three look winning chances.

Falling Waters is the first to go in race five, the Fillies and Mares Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1100m.

The daughter of Turffontein finished fourth at Moonee Valley at her last start on February 8 and Mike Moroney feels the slightly easier class here will suit.

“It does look a nice race for her and she looks well weighted,” Moroney said.

“The only question mark with her is the start - she can be a tad slow away but if she begins well and takes advantage of the good draw then I think she will be hard to beat.”

Parsifal runs in race six, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1400m in a race reduced to six after scratchings.

The three-year-old was impressive winning his last start at Ballarat but has drawn the outside which Moroney sees as a potential problem.

“He’s drawn awkwardly but he should be able to use his gate speed and get across,” Moroney said.

“He’s up against some older, experienced horses but I think if he can cross without having to use himself too much then I think he’s good enough to win.

“He’s still improving and got plenty of upside so this will be a good test for him.”

Born To Fight (pictured) is the last to go in race eight, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1200m.

The son of Street Boss is resuming after a promising first preparation that saw him place at Flemington.

“His work and jumpouts have been excellent leading into this and I think he has improved a fair way from what he showed us last time in,” Moroney said.

“He’s strengthened and matured mentally and I think he can go on to better races than today.

“He should put himself on the speed and I’m expecting him to be hard to beat.”
