Dance Of Life Makes Australian Debut

There will be plenty of interest surrounding the first Australian race day start of European purchase Dance Of Life (Mastercraftsman) who will take his place in the Rating 78 Handicap event over 1500m at Geelong.

With stable rider Patrick Moloney to take the ride, trainer Mike Moroney has been pleased with his jumpouts to date, in preparation for today, and reports while the horse is fit, he is going to take plenty of improvement from the run.

“We’ve done what we can to get him ready for a first up run over 1500m, but there is no doubt he is going to take benefit for the outing and improve the further he goes.”

“He’s come on very well since his last jump out and we’re happy with where he is at.”

The second and final runner for the team is Margin Trader (Tavistock) who comes back to midweek class and looks well placed, and well-drawn, to see out a competitive race.

“If he flies the gates we will look to take a forward position, otherwise we’d be quite happy to see him in behind the leaders with cover – just to give him an opportunity to round off his races,” Moroney said.

“We can’t fault the horse and his work so we’re hoping to see a forward showing from him.”

Onto Thursday where racing will be held at Pakenham – Racing.com Park – and Ballymore will be represented by two runners in Horino (Artie Schiller) and But It’s True (High Chaparral).

But It’s True was unlucky not to finish closer in his first up effort at Caulfield earlier in the month, after being caught wide and doing plenty of work from the tail of the field, and will take part in the BM70 event over 1400m.

The son of High Chaparral looks well placed to turn the tables second up, but will have to overcome another wide barrier, but should be suited to the bigger track.

Horino is working to a more suitable distance when he lines up in the maiden three-year-old plate over 1600m with Patrick Moloney on board.

He strikes a relatively even, but fair, field and from the draw we should see a marked improvement in his third career race day outing.
