Lord Disick to Cement Metropolitan Path

With Lord Disick (pictured) gradually building up to his pet distance, and attempting to earn a shot at the Group 1 Metropolitan, when he lines up at Rosehill on Saturday, the team will also have strong representation at Benidgo on Sunday with four exciting runners stepping out.

Coming up against a strong field in the 1800m event, Lord Disick is pleasing trainer Mike Moroney with his progress and can expect a more forward showing in Saturday’s event.

“We’ve always rated him as a stayer with ability and if he can put everything together we would like to see him head to the Metropolitan.” Trainer Mike Moroney said.

By Rich Hill sire Pentire, who has done a magnificent job at stud, and for the Ballymore team, Lord Disick could come up as a very talented staying prospect.

Lord Disick has drawn barrier one and will be ridden by senior jockey Christian Reith.

Heading to Bendigo on Sunday and first starter Mia Rosa (Makfi x Our Oak 3f) lines up in race one on the card, in the maiden three-year-old event, and she will be ridden by Ryan Maloney.

“She’s a lovely classic filly in the making and Sunday’s race will give her good experience and bring her on nicely,” Moroney said.

“The barrier draw is not ideal, but we’d like to see her get back and run home nicely and see her do things right.”

Mia Rosa is by the highly inform sire Makfi and will jump from barrier 11.
One runner that is unlucky to still be a maiden is the promising Geodesic (Domesday x Deraismes 4g) who resumes in the maiden event over 1400m and will be ridden by senior jockey Steven Arnold.

“He’s a horse that shouldn’t be a maiden for long and showed glimpses of having good ability last preparation,” Moroney said.

The talented Courageous Rock (Rock Hard Ten x To The Brim 7g) looks a danger in the Rating 70 Handicap over 1600m, despite carrying the top weight of 60kg, but strikes a weaker field and if he can bring his A game will give the race a decent shake.

“It will be his second run at 1600m this preparation which should help and the experience of a senior rider will certainly help,” Moroney said.

Courageous Rock has drawn barrier seven and will also be ridden by Steven Arnold.

Lord Barrington (Darci Brahma x Della Lobra 5g) continues to be a model of consistency and despite being up for some time, still manages to produce very competitive performances and punters should not discount him once again.

The son of Darci Brahma lines up in the Rating 78 event over 1100m and will be hoping to record his fifth career win.

“He just continues to be competitive and is showing no signs he has had enough,” Moroney said.

“His work has been strong and just comes through each run extremely well, and I would again suspect he will be another winning chance on Sunday.”
