Graphic Campaign to Start Friday

The connections of Gr.2 Wellington Cup winner, Graphic (pictured), are well over due for some good fortune having not been able to get their talented galloper to the races, since his dominant trial win at Taupo on August 19, as result of bottomless tracks, last minute distance changes, and meeting abandonments.

Hopefully all that will be put behind Graphic and the team this week as he looks set to make his first race day appearance this coming Friday in the Open 1400m event at Te Rapa.

“The setbacks certainly haven’t helped in terms of where we wanted him to be at this stage in his preparation, but looking at the horse himself, we couldn’t be happier,” co-trainer Chad Ormsby said.

“He’s feeling great in his work, he’s looking super and is bright as rain. We all know 1400m is well short of his preferred trip, but it’s a start and that’s all we need right now.”

Graphic has had two trials this preparation, his latest was around six weeks ago, and if the weather can play it’s part during the course of the week there will be a good chance of him running on a decent surface.
