Ballymore duo to resume at Te Aroha

The Ballymore team will have two representatives for tomorrow’s meeting at Te Aroha including the lightly tried filly by Iffraaj – Sororia.

Making a good impression on debut at Matamata last preparation, when chasing down talented galloper Seize The Moment, Sororia will again partner inform jockey Danielle Johnson in the maiden event over 1400m tomorrow.

“It’s going to be a testing track for her to resume in, although she’s going in fit, we just hope she can get into a nice rhythm in the running,” co-trainer Chad Ormsby said.

Sororia is from the unraced Bertolini mare Yolanda who is a half-sister to Group 1 Levin Classic winner Eileen Dubh and the stakes paced Protene Park.

The second runner on the card for Ballymore will be the well related filly Reachin’ Out who lines up in the maiden event over 1200m and will be ridden by apprentice jockey Shaun McKay – giving the filly a 3kg weight relief.

“She’s drawn the ace gate and we will be making the most of that,” Ormsby said.

“She has shown she’s got some good ability, but has had trouble relaying that to the track so we are hopeful she can do it this preparation.”
