Plenty of Heart shown by Picture Editor

From his outside gate it took Picture Editor over three furlongs to work to outside the leader in Saturday's National Jockeys Trust Handicap at Morphettville.

Trapped wide as the leader enjoyed a soft run, Picture Editor worked hard with his supporters bracing themselves for his run to end in the straight.

But the tough gelding decided otherwise - as the leader kicked, Picture Editor settling in to run him down. And he did just that, claiming the lead at the 150m and racing away by over two lengths.

"It was a really good win," enthused Michael Moroney - "he showed a lot of heart."

It has been a good effort to get Picture Editor into form - the imported galloper taking a while to settle having been used as a pacemaker for none other than the mighty Frankel in the UK.

He is however a horse who always showed ability, winning his first two including a 2000m event at Leicster by a stunning 30 lengths before going on to be stakes placed.
