SUNDAY CHANCES AT BENDIGO

Two Sunday runners at Bendigo for us with Iridessa and Lady In The Sky competing.

Iridessa is the first to go in race six, the benchmark 58 handicap over 2200m with Tayla Childs to ride.

Iridessa has finished runner-up at both her starts this preparation and Mike Moroney is anticipating the daughter of Eurozone can go one better today.

“She’s raced well her two starts here without winning and Tayla gets on well with her,” Moroney said.

“She made mush of the running last start over 2100m at Echuca and was only run down late.

“It’s a similar class race here but with four last-start winners in the race it will not be easy.

“She’s drawn out which may not be ideal but with ordinary luck I’m sure she will be hard to beat.”

Lady In The Sky is in race eight, the benchmark64 handicap over 1600m with Tayla Childs aboard.

It is the second race this preparation for Lady In The Sky who resumed with a last of nine at Ballarat at the end of May.

“I know she was last however, the 1400m was a long way short of her best and she was only beaten 4-1/2 lengths so the run was no where near as bad as it looks on paper,” Moroney said.

“She’s getting ready for longer races and the extra distance today will help.

”She too has an awkward draw but we’ll likely go back and look for her to run on. She will not be inconvenienced by the soft ground and I’m expecting her to be hitting the line hard.”
