CONFIDENCE HIGH AT YARRA VALLEY TODAY

Two runners for us at Yarra Valley on Tuesday with Quail Hollow and My Diamonds Galore taking part and Mike thinks both will prove hard to beat.

Quail Hollow (pictured) is in the sixth race, the benchmark 58 handicap over 1500m with Jordan Childs in the saddle and to jump from barrier seven after scratchings reduced the opposition to eight.

Mike Moroney says Quail Hollow has improved for his first-up fifth over1400m at Werribee on December 6.

“He’s taken good improvement from that run and I’m particularly pleased with him going into today’s race,” Moroney said.

“The draw is a bit awkward, mainly because there does look to be a bit of speed in the race but he’s a versatile horse which can be on pace or settle behind them so we’ll leave that up to Jordie.

“The scratchings have helped and I think this looks a nice opportunity for him to win again and I expect him to be hard to beat.’

My Diamonds Galore runs in race seven, the benchmark 58 handicap over 1950m from barrier five under Jordan Childs.

The daughter of Tavistock looks ready to win following placings at her last two starts.

“She’s nice and fit and her work has been good - she’s just improving all the time and is putting on weight,” Moroney said.

“It’s an even looking race but with ordinary luck from that tricky draw I think she will be hard to beat and she deserves a win the way she is racing.”
