LADY IN THE SKY CAN DOUBLE UP AT BALLARAT

Lady In The Sky and Shilo Lass are our runners on Monday when they race at Ballarat.

Lady In The Sky (pictured) is the first to go in race six, the benchmark 58 handicap over 2000m with Fred Kersley riding from barrier five after scratchings.

The daughter of Savabeel impressed coming from second last around the home turn to break her maiden at Pakenham over 1600m last start and Mike Moroney believes the extra distance today will be to her advantage.

“She’s done well since the last win and the step up to 2000 metres will suit her,” Moroney said.

“It’s a step up in class obviously and the topweight looks the one to beat.

“Being a backmarker she will need some luck but Fred stays on her after winning last start and I think she can prove hard to beat.”

Shilo Lass starts a new campaign in race eight, the benchmark 64 handicap over 1100m with Fred Kersley in the saddle and jumping from barrier four after scratchings.

“She’s ready to go after a couple of jumpouts and she looks really bright,” Moroney said.

“She is not the type to carry a lot of condition so we need to be a bit careful with her but her jumpouts have been good.

“She’s nice and fresh and it looks a winnable race if she runs up to her best
