SUNDAY CHANCES AT WODONGA

Langworthy and Nibe Viajera are our Sunday runners when they venture to Wodonga.

Langworthy runs in race one, the Maiden Plate over 1590m, jumping from barrier one under James Winks.

It is the third race start for the son of Sacred Falls which finished unplaced over 1400m at Bendigo last time out after racing on the speed and Mike Moroney is expecting a better showing today.

“He’s got a lovely draw with him stepping up in trip,” Moroney.

“If you just went on his work you would think he’s a winning chance. We’ve always thought the further he goes the better he will be.

“He’s fitter today and it does not look the strongest of opposition so I have to say I will be disappointed if he doesn’t run well.”

Nube Viajera (pictured) runs in race four, the Maiden Plate over 2050m with Daniel Stackhouse to ride from barrier four after scratchings.

The Lucas Cranach four-year-old finished third last time out over 1614m on a heavy track at Moe, making up good ground in the home straight.

“His last run was satisfactory and he seems to have improved, it can be difficult to gauge as he is a very casual track worker but he has done well.

“It’s a handy enough race and the soft track should be in his favour as is the distance so if he can run up to his last start I’m expecting him to be in the finish.”
