ALBURQ AND SHE'S A THIEF WINNING CHANCES AT CAULFIELD

Alburq and She’s A Thief are both chances to improve our season tally at Caulfield today.

She’s A Thief (pictured)is the first to go in race two, the Benchmark 90 Fillies and Mares Handicap over 1100m with Daniel Stackhouse riding and to jump from barrier seven.

The daughter of Showcasing won over 1200m at Caulfield last time out and has pleased Mike Moroney since.

“She’s trained on well - she is up in class here and meets a stronger field here I think so it will be interesting to see where she fits in.

“There are some stakes performed mares in this race so she will need to be on her game.

“Provided she jumps cleanly, I’d say she will go forward and put herself on speed and if things go her way then I expect to see her in the finish.”

Alburq runs in race five, the three-year-old handicap over 1400m where he is joint topweight, to jump from barrier six with Michael Poy’s claim reducing the weight to 60kg

“The claim helps a lot over 1400m,” Moroney said.

“We will have to wait and see if the rain arrives - there does not look a huge amount of speed in the race so we will likely ask Michael to let him settle where he is comfortable and take our chance from there.

“I’m happy with him, he worked with She’s A Thief on Tuesday and there was nothing between them.

“He’s an adaptable horse so provided the weather does not play its part I do think he will be hard to beat.”
