TWO CHANCES AT SALE ON SUNDAY

Two runners for us at Sale on Sunday including the last start city winner Miss Ladybird.

Miss Ladybird (pictured) runs in race eight, the benchmark 70 handicap over 1400m with Jye McNeil in the saddle and jumping from barrier two.

The Snitzel mare led most of the way to score over 1300m at Sandown last time and Mike Moroney said has trained on well since.

“She’s drawn nicely but it is a stronger race and she’s up in trip,” Moroney said.

“Hopefully she can get another uncontested lead and she can win again. She’s trained on well, we’re very happy with her and provided she doesn’t get taken on in front then I expect her to be hard to beat.”

Pollard is our other runner in race two, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1100m with Michael Dee riding and drawn barrier one.

Scratchings have reduced the opposition to 10 and Moroney has made a significant gear change on the gelding.

“We’ve added blinkers to him and they have certainly sharpened him up on the track,” Moroney said.

“He's shown us glimpses of ability and I’m expecting him to run well but it’s up to him now to show us he’s worth perservering with for sure.

"The scratchings have helped and from the draw he should get all the favours so I’d like to think he can turn things around.”
