It's another busy weekend ahead with two runners - Lady Lorne and Abitofado (pictured) - at Caulfield, four - Born To Rock, Quarterbar, Tinseltown and Viking Hero at Doomben and another two - Dodge Tid and My Dream Catcher at the Sunshine Coast.

Lady Lorne contests the second race at Caulfield on Saturday and can be expected to improve upon her latest unplaced effort - on that occasion the filly suffering from atrial fibrillation.

"They say it is caused by an electrolyte inbalance," Michael Moroney explained, "but she seems to be over it now and she has done well."

The blinkers go on Lady Lorne who jumps from barrier 10 with the in-form Lisa Cropp aboard.

She also takes the ride on tough campaigner Abitofado in the Catanach's Jewellers Handicap over 2406m.

Nicely drawn in barrier 8, the six-year-old looks nicely placing having run such a good race in the Warrnambool Cup last time out.

"We are very happy with him," said Moroney. "He looks well in at the weights and it is a nice race for him. He has trained on well since Warrnambool."

Unfortunately our first two entries at Doomben on Saturday are emergencies, with impressive last start Ipswich winner Born To Rock unlikely to get a run in the Super Screens Handicap.

"It's a shame as she won so well last time," Moroney said, "and her form in New Zealand has been holding up over the winter carnival."

Second emergency in the Gr.3 Grand Prix Stakes, Quarterbar may instead run on Wednesday in an attempt to gain a Queensland Derby berth. Failing that he will be gelded and spelled.

We saddle up two runners in the Gr.3 Premier's Cup - Tinseltown and Viking Hero.

Having run into plenty of trouble at his most recent outings, the Brisbane Cup Tinseltown is due a change of luck, having fallen in the Sydney Cup.

"He was a bit shaken after that," Moroney said, "but he came out of it well physically. We have given him time between runs to get over it and we are very happy with him. He looks terrific and he should run well."

Viking Hero, only just beaten in the Gr.3 Chairman's Handicap last start, is close to a win.

"This is a little bit stronger and the barrier (2) is of some concern as he does like a bit of galloping room."

"But he is going really well and his latest run was one of his best."

Staying in Queensland, we have two nice chances at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday - Dodge Tide and My Dream Catcher.

Fresh in the 1000m Class 2 event, Dodge Tide usually comes to hand quickly and is proven at the trip. "We expect him to run well," Moroney said.

Taking her place in the Class 4 1400m race, My Dream Catcher is also first up from a break and she too is expected to run boldly - "she's had a couple of nice jump-outs and should prove hard to beat."
