THE Doomben Cup looms as a battle of the imports and Hugh Bowman believes Glass Harmonium has enough improvement up his sleeve to be the first horse to beat My Kingdom Of Fife on Australian soil.

The two English expats dominate betting for Saturday's weight-for-age Group 1 race with TAB Sportsbet Fixed Odds opening them at equal $3.80 favourites once the final field of 10 was declared yesterday.

My Kingdom Of Fife got the better of Glass Harmonium in the Hollindale Stakes, but Bowman is confident Mike Moroney's grey can turn the tables over the longer journey.

"He could improve five lengths," Bowman said.

"I am not saying that he definitely will, but he gave me the impression that he is open to improvement.

"He raced a bit fresh in the Hollindale. He got bumped around a touch in the run which didn't help.

"I think he has more room for improvement than My Kingdom Of Fife considering he was first-up over 1800m."

Glass Harmonium is a nightmare result for TAB Sportsbet, who took several big bets on the import at long odds when markets first opened last month.

"He is clearly our worst way, that is why we have made him equal favourite with My Kingdom Of Fife so we can try and get some money out of the other runners," TAB Sportsbet spokesman Glenn Munsie said.
