WINNING CHANCES FOR US ON FRIDAY

Bill The Bee went so close to giving us another winner yesterday but we have four runners on Friday to make amends.

Lady Handshake and Pueblo are at Kyneton during the day with Bianco Nuovo and Bonaparte at Moonee Valley tonight.

Lady Handshake is the first go in race three at Kyneton, the Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate over 1200m and Mike Moroney is happy to let the daughter of Dundeel go to the races for the first time.

“It doesn’t look the strongest sort of race but I’d say the trip will be too short for her,” Moroney said.

“She’s improved with every jumpout she has had and she’s got some ability for sure, this is a nice starting point for her.

“She’s still got some improvement in her and I’ll be happy to see her running on through the line but it will not surprise me to see her run a cheeky race.”

Pueblo runs in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1850m with Jake Noonan to ride from barrier one.

“He’s starting to get out to what should be his right distance and he’s had a couple of starts now so he should be ready to run well,” Moroney said.

“The heavy track was against him last start but if he runs up to what he showed first-up than he should go close to winning.”

Bianco Nuovo (pictured) runs in race three at Moonee Valley, the Benchmark 70 Handicap over 2040m with Michael Poy helping reduce his weight to 58kg.

The son of Artie Scjiller is racing consistently this preparation and after winning first-up at Sandown was not beaten far last time out when finishing fourth behind Double You Tee over 2000m at Caulfield.

“He’s racing really well and while he’s drawn one from the outside it’s probably the best place for him as he has a bit of time to get across before the first turn,” Moroney said.

“It looks a winnable race and we’re happy with the way he is training - he looks in great order and provided he can land in the right spot out of the straight the first time then I think he will be hard to beat.”

Bonaparte is our final runner for the day when he starts in race eight, the over 1200m with James Winks riding.

The son of Pierro finished fourth over 1406m at Benalla last start after racing on the speed and Moroney has decided to revert to a shorter distance.

“We’re dropping back in trip and he’s drawn to get a nice spot with speed outside him,” Moroney said.

“He looks well, is working well and I think dropping him back in trip is a positive.

“It’s an even sort of race and he can produce his best form then he’s definitely a winning chance.”
