BILL IS OFF TO BENDIGO

Two runners for us today at Bendigo after a busy time at the Premier Sale adding new members to the team.

Buffalo Bill and The Delphi are in action with Buffalo Bill the first to go in race two, the Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate over 1500m with Nikita Beriman to ride.

It is the second start for the son of High Chaparral which finished fifth on debut over 1406m at Benalla on February 7.

“He’s trained on well since and is slowly but surely starting to get the hang of things,” Mike Moroney said.

“He’s been a bit of a slow learner but the race has definitely brought him on.

“It’s a decent enough looking race but our horse is improving and I’m expecting him to run well.”

The Delphi (pictured) runs in race five, the Benchmark 70 Handicap over 2200m with Rhys McLeod riding from barrier four.

The son of Makfi has been most consistent this preparation winning two of his four races, only narrowly beaten at Sandown at his latest start on February 20.

“He’s dropping back a little bit in distance after running so well at 2400m last time but I can’t see that worrying him,” Moroney said.

“From the barrier I’d say we'll be positive and he’ll be in the first group on pace.

“He’s trained on well, looks bright and fit and I do think he’s the horse to beat.”
