BARTHELONA RESUMES AT CAULFIELD ON SATURDAY

Another winner for the stable with Bianco Nuovo on Friday night and Barthelona and Top Of The Range will represent the team at Caulfield on Saturday.

Top Of The Range is first to go in race seven, the Peter Missen Benchmark 78 Handicap over 2000m with Patrick Moloney riding from barrier 10.

“We’re particularly happy with the horse and the way he is going,” Moroney said.

“He has won at Caulfield before and the race might be a bit more truly run which will suit him.

“My one little query with him is that he might be looking for a bit further now and having finally learned to relax in his races he doesn’t seem to have the finishing zip he had.

“That said, this looks a nice race for him, we’re happy with the way he has trained on and I’m expecting another good run from him.”

Barthelona (pictured) runs in the last race of the day, the Alicia White Benchmark 84 Handicap over 1100m with Lachlan King reducing his weight to 57.5kg and jumping from barrier one.

It is the first start this preparation for the five-year-old which has impressed in recent jumpouts.

“I couldn’t be happier with the way he is this preparation,” Moroney said. “He really looks to have matured now, is strong and holding his condition.

“I think he’s improved and this looks a lovely race for him. His work and jumpouts have been excellent and he hasn’t missed a place in his five races when first-up so I’m expecting a big run.”
