Co-trainer Pam Gerard said: “Livvy Lass steps up in distance which should be ideal for her. She looks good, has been working well and hopefully finishes strongly off a good trip. She deserves a win”.

“She’s A Goddess has trained on very well since her last start win. She looks fantastic and we think she can be very competitive in this field. She should get a nice trip just off the pace and a filly with some quality about her.”

“Powers That Be ran home well for third on debut, but a stiff assignment up in class. She is bright and happy and improved a lot for her first race. She meets a few winners that are held in high regard, however she is tough, will run the trip out and also get further. Off a nice run, hopefully she can be finishing over the top of a few of them.”

“Pinmedown recorded a great win here on Boxing Day in the Eight Carat Classic (Gr. 2, 1600m). She has eaten up and done well since, and we cannot fault her progress. She will parade looking better than last time and hopefully relaxes in the run and sprints home well. Stepping to 2000 metres is new territory for her and others in the race, but we think the distance should suit her.” Pictured

“Iridessa faces a big step up in class, but off her work she warrants her chance at black type. We know she can run the trip, so left alone in front could see her sticking solidly to the task.”

“Arrogant is very well and bright for the assignment. He has worked very well since his win last start and we should get a good line on him today. Providing he relaxes throughout the day and carries that to the race, then hopefully he settles and does everything right.”

On The Rocks gets in with a light weight and we were very happy with his work through the week. It is a huge step up in class, as good a field as we get, but he has an X factor and good to see him compete at this level. He looks fit and forward for the race and should be a good chance.”
