HANG MAN DOMINANT AT BENDIGO

Hang Man showed he is destined for bigger things with a dominant win at Bendigo On Sunday.

The import was settled towards the rear by Patrick Moloney from a wide draw and was still well back passing halfway.

Moloney began to take closer order approaching the home turn and made a sweeping run to be challenging into the home straight, Hang man accelerating clear in a matter of strides, eased towards the finish to win the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 2200m by 2 1/4-lengths.

Moloney described Hang Man as “A weapon”

“The only little query we had with him was how he would handle the firmer ground but when he let go, gee, he let down like a serious horse.

“He showed us today he’s got an even better turn of foot on top of the ground.

“Early on I thought I’d be three wide but with cover but we ended up exposed a bit down the back. He was always happy and relaxed which is key when you are racing over a distance.

“He’s got good staying ability and adapted well in his first preparation and he’s certainly got a promising future.”

Hang Man was purchased in England after one start and has now won two of his five starts.
