LOUISVILLE LIP CAN DO THE TALKING AT MOE

Nanita and Louisville Lip are the stable representatives when they race at Moe on Monday.

Nanita is the first to go in race three, the 3YO Fillies Maiden over 1200m with Patrick Moloney to ride.

The daughter of Not A Single Doubt has disappointed her last two starts however, Mike Moroney has made a gear change for this race.

“We’ve taken the blinkers off her,” Moroney said. “They haven’t really helped as we anticipated they might.

“We’ve also put a tongue tie on after Patrick said he felt she was not getting a full lung full of air and possibly swallowing her tongue.

“If that explains her last performance then she could just turn things around here. It’s a small field with a couple of handy types and if the gear changes work then she is capable of being in the finish.”

Louisville Lip (pictured) runs in race seven, the Class 1 Handicap over 2050m with Patrick Moloney in the saddle.

The Ocean Park three-year-old finished runner-up last start at Donald and Moroney is pleased with the way Louisville Lip is progressing.

“I’m really happy with him and he’s improving all the time, albeit in small steps,” Moroney said.

“His work is improving and he looks to me as if he’s turned the corner.

“He’ll need to as it’s a tougher race here but he’s getting his act together and I do think he’s going to make a handy middle-distance horse in time.

“He just needs to learn his craft and mature but I’m sure he will run well on Monday.”
