Two In A Row for Misty Waters

Talented filly Misty Waters made it two wins from two starts with a dominant all the way victory at Sandown on Wednesday.

As at her Moonee Valley debut, the speedy daughter of Choisir jumped straight to the front and from there never looked in any danger of defeat - holding off her rivals by an impressive four lengths.

Whilst Misty Waters is by no means fully mature, her early success comes as no surprise with the stable's Anthony Feroce noting that she has always showed herself to be a runner.

"From day one she has shown natural ability," he said, adding that he is confident that she will be even stronger at three.

Jockey Jake Noonan has also been excited by Misty Waters.

"She has always impressed us and with the form holding up from her first win I came here full of confidence."

Whilst Misty Waters always travelled like the winner, Noonan did note that there is scope for improvement with the youngster showing signs greenness.

"After walking the track I decided that I did not want to lead right against the rails so we were out a bit - and she wanted to look and wander about a bit."

"But aside from that she is a ready-made racehorse and I think ridden with a bit of cover she will prove just as effective."

Michael Moroney, busy at the sales in Sydney, is looking forward to Misty Waters' progress from here on and has outline the Listed Dequetteville Stakes at Morphettville as an immediate target.

"She is a natural running two-year-old and that looks a nice race for her," he said, adding that a spell in preparation for the spring carnival would ensue.

Ballymore Stables have been in great form of late and we look forward to it continuing over the weekend. We take one runner to the Easter Saturday Caulfield meeting - Saint Or Sinner to take his place in the Gr.3 Victoria Handicap.

A great Listed second when resuming at Flemington a couple of weeks ago, the talented five-year-old has come on well since.

"We have been really happy with him," Moroney said.

"The only little question mark is that he may now be looking for the mile but from his inside draw he should get a lovely run."

We also have a runner at Tatura on Saturday, Naval Craft having his first run since the spring.

Yet to be placed in three starts, the Starcraft three-year-old has however showed more at home than on the track and he comes to the race on the back of a strong showing in a recent Werribee trial.

"It will be good to get him to the races and see where he is at," said Moroney.
Monday is another quiet day but again our lone runner is a nice chance with Zazparella hard fit for recent racing.

Stepping up to the 2100m of the Wellington Handicap, Zazparella has a tricky gate to deal with but were happy with her recent Sydney run and as Moroney said "once she strikes form she tends to hold it."
